Ranked as the most active venture capital investor in Tennessee by CB Insights, Jumpstart annually makes approximately 20 uniform investments of $150,000 via convertible SAFE notes to innovative companies in the health space. These seed companies are expected to have both a tremendous impact in the health domain while driving strong financial returns.
After receiving hundreds of applications, we extended 16 offers, bringing the total number of companies in our growing portfolio to over 100..
The 2020 Cohort spans a variety of novel healthcare applications such as staffing optimization, population health management, augmented reality and medication cost management.

DrugViu is expanding the dataset on health, medication outcomes, and clinical trials to include people of color by collecting verified medication outcomes and side effects from communities of color and recruiting them for clinical trials.

Minority populations being left out of clinical trials have profound downstream effects for communities of color. We are excited to bring Kwaku and his team into the Jumpstart family as they work to improve health outcomes for people of color.

Elly is the world’s first empathetic audio companion for people impacted by cancer. Elly sends daily motivational and educational content to users and also provides sessions where users can learn and grow through other patients’ relatable experiences.

A cancer diagnosis can lead to feelings of isolation and detachment from the rest of society. The Jumpstart team loves Elly’s audio-driven approach towards building a community to support cancer patients. We believe Elly will both lead to a better patient experience and improve health outcomes.

HelloPatients is an Intelligent Patient Engagement platform to enable patient awareness of healthcare costs by providing payment transparency. HelloPatients assists providers in automating patient payments, allowing a patient to clearly understand what they owe the provider and then customize a payment plan accordingly.
